Editorial and Peer Review Policy
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to publish articles that will meet the highest standards of quality in scientific vigor and readability. To achieve this, we follow a double-anonymous peer review process, where the identity of both the author and the reviewer are unknown to each other.
The Review Process
Our review process involves the following specific steps:
1
Initial Evaluation
Once the manuscript is received, an in-house editor evaluates the manuscript for its relevance to the scope of the journal. If relevant, it moves to the next step. If not, it is rejected at this stage.
2
Editorial Screening
An initial screening checks if the manuscript conforms to the preparation instructions. Inadequacies (e.g., plagiarism, statistical treatment, reference formatting) will be communicated to the author for revision. Manuscripts not following instructions will not be processed further.
3
Peer Review
We identify at least two peer reviewers to provide a review within 2-4 weeks. Reviewers evaluate the quality of content (science) and point out serious writing/presentation issues. Possible decisions include:
- Accepted without any revisions
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
4
Decision Communication
The reviewers' decisions and comments are duly communicated to the corresponding author of the manuscript.
5
Verification of Revisions
The corrected manuscript is scrutinized by the in-house editor to ensure necessary corrections are addressed or explained. Major revisions may be sent back to reviewers for approval.
6
Final Decision & Editing
Once the in-house editor is satisfied, the manuscript is sent to the Editor-in-Chief for the final decision. Accepted manuscripts are assigned to a professional copyeditor for language editing. The copy-edited version is sent to the author for approval if needed.
7
Typesetting
The approved manuscript is sent to our publishing service for typesetting to prepare the galley proof.
8
Publication
The galley proof is sent to the author for final correction/approval, followed by publication on the journal website and release to indexing services.
